Largest Hurricane From the Atlantic

First Created 11/1/2012

Hurricane Sandy was dubbed the “Worst Storm in a Hundred Years”, “Frankenstorm”, “Superstorm Sandy”.

[ The storm affected a land mass running from Washington, DC through Maine, killing more than 50 people, wiping out homes and boardwalks along the Jersey Shore. It flooded homes and roads throughout the region as well as subways and tunnels crossing under the Hudson and the East Rivers in New York City.

Mass transit ground to a halt, the New York Stock Exchange was closed for two days—the first 2-day weather related closing in 124 years–and schools and businesses closed for days and many remain shut. ]

Olga, 2001, 865 miles

Karl, 2004, 780 miles

Katrina, 2005, 415 miles

Irene, 2011, 600 miles

Sandy, 2012, 1000 miles

While Katrina was the smallest, it did the most costly damage.

Sandy was said to have been the worst storm in 100 years. Lately, that term seems obsolete.

“I’m never gonna use the phrase hundred-year storm again,” New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said in a press conference yesterday, “because we’ve had three of those, three hundred-year storms, in the past three years.” 11/1/12 Huffington Post

There are over 25 verses in the bible about the whirlwind. Tornadoes, Hurricanes, and the like. What is the whirlwind?

Job 38:1 Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

Nahum 1:3 The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

Hosea 8:7 For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk: the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.

Jeremiah 25:32 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.

Jeremiah 30:23 Behold, the whirlwind of the LORD goeth forth with fury, a continuing whirlwind: it shall fall with pain upon the head of the wicked.

God is in the whirlwind and He speaks with it. What do you think He is telling us?
