He Said, We said

2 Peter 1:20-21 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Do you understand what this means? It means the bible scriptures should NOT be interpreted to mean what you THINK they mean nor should they be interpreted to mean what you WANT them to mean. They have ONE meaning. Yes, Jesus used parables with duel meanings BUT, He interpreted them for you. These are called “similes”. Yes, the stories of the bible have duel meanings. These are “comparisons” or “pictures” of other events. And, yes, the visions and prophecies in the bible are sometimes hard to figure out their meaning BUT, they too, have only one interpretation. Just like a dream, which is exactly what these are.

Have you ever had a dream that you try so hard to figure out the meaning of it? You read books, search the internet, & ask other people. They ALL have a different interpretation of a particular object or whatever it may be. That causes you confusion as to what the meaning of the dream was when in fact the interpretation lies within the dream itself. You try too hard to search for answers but, the answer was right there all along. The bible is no different. Just like Daniel’s visions. He had visions of beasts. Obviously, there is no such thing as a 7 headed, 10 horned beast. Gabriel told Daniel what the beast in the visions meant. The were kingdoms/nations with kings/rulers. That is the interpretation for all of these “beast” type analogies. Yes, even the ones in the book of Revelation. The interpretation is already there. Now, who the “beasts” and “horns” of Daniel’s end times visions and the book of Revelation are in relevance to reality is speculation not interpretation. We will find that out soon enough.

I just find it very disturbing that many christians believe the scriptures have different meanings for the same content. No no no! Do you know what this is leading to? “All religions lead to the same God” kind of thinking and teaching. If we just willy nilly believe what we want we stray from the truth. When my parents told me to do or not to do something, they meant it one way. I couldn’t just interpret the meaning to be anything else but what they said. When I tried it usually got me in trouble. The root of this problem is mainly on how and who is teaching us. Do you understand that pastors, preachers, etc. are taught in bible schools by men who were taught in bible schools. Schools that are given specific instructions on how to teach. Schools where the teachers throw in their own opinions and students say “Hmmmm, he/she makes a good point.” Then these students go out and preach in churches with all these opinions added with there own. The congregation says, “Hmmmm, he/she makes a good point.” He/she may even throw in some good opinions that please the congregation so he/she can get more tithes. Why do you think different churches have different teachings? You could go to one Baptist church and learn a subject, next week go to the Baptist church across town that is teaching the same subject but it has a different meaning. You see it’s not just different teaching between different religions. There are different teachings amidst the same religions. When, in fact, the bible scriptures have only one teaching/meaning/interpretation.

Another HUGE factor causing this division is the use of different bible translations. They don’t all have the same meanings/interpretations. I’d be very sure I was studying and being taught from the right one with the right interpretations. Perhaps you don’t take it as seriously as I do but, my life with Christ now and when He returns depends on me learning His word accurately. I want to do my best to please Him with all my heart and soul because I mess up enough in this life. There are things I have done that only He has forgiven me for. He gave His life so my soul could have a chance to be spared from hell when this body dies. I trust Him and I owe it to Him to learn the truth. Just as I love my husband very much and want to know and learn every thing that makes him unique and happy, I have an even stronger love for God and the desire to know and learn His truth. One error in truth that I am deceived into believing could cost me my chance to stay with Him forever, now and after I die. That is a big deal to me. As it should be to you.

I came across this on www.pewresearch.org.

68% believe there is more than one TRUE interpretation of their religious teachings. As you can see Christian religions are right up there, too. With the exception of, crazy enough, Jehovah’s Witnesses. Next thing you know there will be more than one way to God.

Oops! Guess that’s already being taught.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Only ONE way to God, only ONE way to truth, only ONE interpretation. Even the apostles were of ONE mind. None of them taught a different meaning to any subject. None of them believed anything different.

Acts 1:14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

Acts 4:32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

This passage speaks volumes.

Acts 2:46-47 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

Maybe if Christianity wasn’t so divided among itself, we could help save a few more souls. But first we must be of ONE accord, ONE mind, ONE heart. We must all believe the same thing or no one is going to believe anything.

God Bless
